Every Day, Earth Day: DORCO Employees Action for a Greener Future

2025.04.28

With 2025 being one of the hottest years to date, the race towards a greener future has never seemed so important. At the end of 2024, the United Nations gathered to discuss the importance of climate change and how the world should respond to Global Warming. With the importance of climate change becoming an ever-pressing issue, DORCO has participated in the action to fight against global warming . DORCO has worked on developing and producing PCR plastic (post-consumer recycled) in portable razors and using recyclable paper-based packaging. Not only this, but DORCO has set important SDG’s in both management and manufacturing such as employee wellbeing, and water sanitation.

That is why this coming Earth Day, DORCO and its employees have come together to work on a green future with a fun new challenge called "Earth Marbles – GREEN BATON." Based on the popular board game Monopoly, employees challenge each other to participate in different ESG activities to travel around the board.

Employees have been participating in this campaign with everyday green actions such as turning off the lights, using reusable tumblers, and public transportation. Here are some impressions of employees who recently participated in the challenge.

"As soon as I heard that the HR team planned a special campaign to help with environmental protection, I jumped at the chance to participate," said US sales manager Amy Hwang from the Overseas Business Team. "I am currently traveling Jeju Island, and during the trip, I continuously used a handkerchief to dry my hands rather than use a disposable hand towel." " Although it was cumbersome to carry around the towel, I wanted to continue this habit to help save the environment."

Another participant expressed his concerns regarding the environment. “The Earth is not simply a place we live, but is also a place where future generations will grow. That is why I think it is important to protect the environment, “said Hwang Sungho from the Production Technology team.

“For this Earth Day relay challenge, I chose to walk the stairs instead of taking the elevator. By taking the stairs and saving electricity, I hope to be able to reduce greenhouse gases and help make a better environment for future generations.”

As the challenge continued, there were even more creative ways in which people continued to stay green. Product Design Team’s Jo Won-Joon continued the challenge by turning off the air conditioner and opening the windows instead. He continued participating in energy conservation by turning off the lights and organizing the ping pong room after a good day’s exercise.

The challenge to save the environment continues, and so does DORCO’s commitment to a better future. DORCO’s “Earth Marble—GREEN BATON” challenge continues and is currently bringing employees even closer together for a shared goal of less waste and a cleaner environment.
